The Pen Mar Historical Recovery Association, which has been meeting bi-monthly since 1980 is a non-profit organization composed of men and women interested in the responsible use of metal detecting as a hobby. Club meetings are normally held at the National Apple Museum in Biglerville on the 2nd Tuesday of every other month. Each meeting includes an excellent speaker, displays of items recently recovered with a metal detector, refreshments, and fellowship. An annual club hunt is held on the 1st Saturday of October. For more information or a membership application for 2011, contact Don Hinks at Gettysburg Electronics (717) 334-8634 or email gettysburgelectronics@embarqmail.com.
Spring Club Hunt: A special Spring Mystery Hunt is being planned for all club members (2012 dues must be paid) at a great site where permission has already been obtained. Permission for the club to hunt the site is for one Saturday only. Participants must agree to never attempt to hunt the area again or tell others of the site. Refreshments will, as usual, be available. Coffee and sodas will be provided. The rest, snacks, cakes, goodies, cookies, etc. are up to you, the members. Please bring along some goodies for all of us to enjoy. Many thanks to all of you who have been faithful in helping out with refreshments at past meetings.
